script kiddies
Script Kiddies have been at my site. Unfortunately, for them, I don’t use any of the standard CGI scripts for sending mail. That’s the mechanism they use to get sites to send out junk mail, but all their attempts end in a 404 message:

The timing is too precise to be human: I suspect the attacks came from spam-virus-infected PCs somewhere.
